Despite all the weather forecasts indicating we'd be socked in, I got two clear hours yesterday evening, in between rains. This is what I did with it. It's the globular cluster M15 in Pegasus. #Astronomy #Astrophotography

Hoping to have got this last night through our PIRATE telescope in Tenerife. #OpenUniversity SXPS288. Been rubbish weather this week and last night was the last chance
Hi. I already know it was a cloudy evening, no images. And that was our last night on the telescope. We have access to it for 4 weeks, got some excellent images over that time, covering about 8 clusters.
This is a 152mm Stellarvue triplet refractor, which I outfitted with a homemade "collar" that slides over the dew shield to create diffraction spikes. Basically just cardboard and crossed wires.
I was reading about a cluster that was so dense that the average distance between stars was something like 1/10th of a light year. I can’t remember which, but it was tiny. Maybe 300 ly in diameter?
