I'd say at the very least, rolling the credits is what I call completing a game. But also life's too short to stick to the end with something you're not enjoying, so it shouldn't be an obstacle to crossing it off your backlog.
If is a story driven game yes I finished the game , I'm not much of a side quest guy , when the credits roll you finished the game (except for nier automata that has like 27 endings lmao)
I make a distinction between "being done" and "having beat it". If you haven't got to the scene that sends you back to the title screen, you haven't beat it.
But you can be done with a game way before finishing all its content. God knows I have, sometimes I'm like "I'm satisfied with what ive seen"
