Yeahhhhh I’m not *that* deep into it yet lol, just trying to do Duolingo, speak it a bit, and figure out how I’m going to get a personal number and visa XD
Yeah, we flew there in January. Was a massive queue for British Passports, none for EU ones. Tat had used her British passport out of habit, so we queued up with in the long British queue for a few minutes till we remembered she had packed her Italian passport as well… lol
Voff!
Colleagues often complain that neither grammar nor spelling follow clear rules. But at least we don’t hold regular spelling competitions, unlike certain languages I could mention 🇺🇸🇫🇷
Yeah, to be fair, as someone who learnt a bit of German when I was younger, I think I have a little bit of a head start. I *mostly* don't even need it in Sweden (until I am on the tube and the SL driver says something and I have zero clue what it is), but I feel I should learn it nonetheless as 1/2
(I set myself a goal to move to Sweden within a year, which I know is INCREDIBLY ambitious considering migrationsverket, but also it feels like my home there)
Knowing the language also helped me get a greater feeling of belonging wherever I lived abroad. But I moved back to Sweden in the end, so I suppose it didn’t work quite that well….
Yeah, honestly, the UK is quite stressful right now and has been for many years now. I feel my blood pressure drop in Sweden (well Stockholm, I hear there's north/south stuff) and I can actually sleep, so that's always good! 1/2
