My grandma also grew dahlias!
Like a LOT of them haha!
I agree! Theyβre a lot fancier than the standard ones you see in the store. The solid colored ones are nice but thereβs something special and complex about the multi color ones!
Dahlias weren't my grandma's favorite flower (azeleas), but they were her favorite flower to talk shit about with all of the other grandmas when she went to the garden center. She had the best looking dahlias. So-and-so's (who wasn't there) couldn't grow a dahlia to save her life...

The colors on those are so pretty!
Also, they don't look like store-bought dahlias. They look "fancy."
My grandmother used to grow them in pots in her garden.
I always thought of them as the "Halloween is coming" flower because they would bloom in October.

I fear that may be me when Iβm old π€£
My favourite are the Cafe au Lait - have you seen them?
I so wish I had the space for them! β€οΈ
Those ones are SO pretty! My grandma used to grow them π₯Ή I think Iβll add them to my list for this year!
Iβll have to check on blue, but those would add a really nice mix of color π₯Ή
