Am I crazy for thinking that Zoraal Ja's reaction of neglect by his father is not out of the realm of possibility? he was the miracle heir and yet his father adopted two other kids to possibly govern the country.
I feel like it makes sense he grew spiteful of this.

I'm not defending his stupid plan "make people appreciate peace with war" that's still puzzles me.
Mind you, it shows how detatched he was from the world over since garlemald taught everyone that lesson already.
I don't know how this is hard to believe.
You still feel for him while recognizing he's gone too far.
Yeah, of COURSE he had a mental breakdown, that's kind of a LOT to deal with
My personal feeling on Zoraal Ja is that there is such a gulf of nothingness around him at every point in the story, I find it hard to tell what i'm meant to feel. surprise? intrigue?
FF14 has a lot more characters that have a past that could justify their actions. Even this expansion alone has 2 that fit this more.
I just find it weird people don't accept the possibility of him hating his family under these circumstances.
It's not you justifying.
I am saying that his family situation does not excuse the actions that he takes or even makes them understandable.
I get selfdoubt or dislike of his family, but from the start it's clear thats not all he has.
There's no point on saying "well that's no excuse" as if one was trying to find ways to say that it's ok.
