The McCann signing opens up more options for the team. If anything, I think it's a signal that the team isn't 100% sold on Chadwick Tromp being the primary back-up.

That’s right. McCann is an insurance policy. I know AA won’t do this but if I were GM, I would attempt a Murphy+ for Bichette.

Sure, we all have opinions. My thinking is getting someone to take his contract and going Bichette/Baldwin rather than Arcia/Murphy. I just don’t want to lose Baldwin like we did Contreras and Langeliers.

I think in Atlanta it makes sense for the catchers to split close to 50/50. I'd be comfortable with Murphy/Baldwin.

And if Murphy has a good season and can be moved for a package that helps the club long-term this offseason, that'd be fine too.
