No one is ever going to pull over on the highway to give you a folk remedy for a cold, like the dude on the train the other day who handed me a strip of orange peel to smell and stop my coughing fit. I love the subway.

I cannot emphasize enough that the New York City subway is not scary. It’s one of my favorite parts of living here. I grew up in the suburbs having to drive on highways everywhere and that’s way scarier
