The Facebook thread has tons of comments too from people who either love the book series or who haven’t read it yet but now absolutely want to from all the reviews and positive feedback. Fabulous series by an amazing author.
The whole series is fanstatic, from one end to the other. The former paladins are terrific, their romantic interests are varied and uniformly amazing, and the church of the White Rat is one of my two all-favorite fantasy religions.
The White Rat reminds me of the Bastard from Bujold's "Paladin of Souls":
"And the Bastard grant us... in our direst need, the smallest gifts: the nail of the horseshoe, the pin of the axle, the feather at the pivot point, the pebble at the mountain's peak, the kiss in despair, the one right word."
