If the NHS is privatised that would mean bankruptcy for myself and my Husband. We would have to sell our home which we have worked hard for all our lives. With both of us having rare illnesses, my Husband also has prostate cancer. No way we could afford health insurance. This has to be stopped.

Reminder: private insurers rarely cover existing ailments and if they do, charge massive premiums and rediculous excesses/contributions.

A simple knee operation could cost more than £10k if self-paid.

I don't know. There is a "retail" price which is what you get billed for, then there is a re-imbursement from the insurance company which is a fraction of that. Many times an infinitesimal fraction. We have no control over what the insurance pays the health care provider and we usually don't

Bear in mind this will cost a family maybe $800/month which is witheld from your paycheck, plus your employer will be kicking in $400-800/month on top of that.

None of them cover extended home care, elder care, nursing homes, etc. I see shows about UK health care where the GPs make house calls? LOL
