The Switch can/does. Pokemon and Monster Hunter and such. But it's limited and underutilized and the range is iffy at best...

It's surprising to see how many games on 3DS continued to support download local play. Like this was the perfect way to play Monster Hunter, 2D platformers, and minigame/arena stuff with other people because you had separate screens
