I got a similar response...a surprised "OH" from the counselor when I suggested I was going to go to college.

She clearly didn't think I was college material. Maybe she read my 2nd grade report card!

Senior year, precalc, I was barely passing going into midterms. My teacher during a private session, looked at me and said “You’re not going to pass my midterm nor my class”. I got a 95 on the midterm and averaged a 90 the rest of the year.

My teacher then told me “thank you for proving me wrong.”

I’m Colleen. Robert Shoots, my 8th grade teacher, picked up my desk, put it in the hallway and I had to sit there all day after I called him “Row-Bert”defending myself from false accusations of ripping up paper in the supply closet and him calling me “Co-leen” for 6 mos. even over my correction.

I don't have any good ones about myself (that I can think of), but I have a brother named David whose handwriting skills peaked in 2nd grade. Anyway, he was discussing his future w/ his HS counselor & said he wanted to be a pro pitcher (he WAS good) and she said, "What if you lose a limb?" 😯

I’m Nani. In HS, the girls’ counselor wrote to the college I applied to, “she’s not college material.” Luckily, I had switched to the boys’ counselor, who wrote glowing recommendation about me to the college. I sure was pissed at that woman when I read my records at college!
