I think I was referring to the years long gone .... I have a few climbers/ramblers in my garden sadly with no scent off them whatsoever.
They are great as a deterrent to unwanted visitors ... two legged visitors ??

Roses often evoke memories. In my case my grandparents garden, red, yellow roses... my grandfather used to cut some for my mother and I to bring back with us when we biked home as the dusk fell. Oh the scent!
