Hence my use of the term "Fauxgressives". For 25 years what Dems haven't done motivates them more than what they have. Their need for perfection never permits "this is a good start". Prefer nothing or regression over some progress. Instead of $12/hr in the 1990s we're still at $7.50/hr.
Then i tell them the red states refuse to raise the minimum wage because racists and sexists don’t send representatives to Washington that will raise the minimum wage for minorities and women, and they look at me like I am from outer space.
well, sure, republicans doing the most heinously, cartoonishly evil shit on repeat is bad, but the democrats are continuing to show their impotence, as they did during the biden administration, as they did during the harris campaign.
I can only hope the inevitable grassroots resistance can combat the ongoing displacement of latin folk, and prevent the incoming genocide of queer folk, because the democratic party sure wont.
I didn't say Democrats were worse than Republicans. Also, it's not that they're "not exactly doing what I want" it's that they're doing nothing. That they've been doing nothing. And that they most likely will continue to do nothing.
You are lying on two counts. If you’re assuming other people are acting in bad faith, I’m assuming the same about you. You know the internet well enough to post but not well enough to Google?
Fair enough. I try to stay informed but I will admit most of the information I have been receiving is all the evil stuff Donald Trump is doing. Also I'm not assuming anyone is acting in bad faith?
Ok. Have fun hoping. We’ll do the work while you wallow in your lazy cynicism and doomer nonsense. You’re free to surrender in advance, but do it somewhere else.
You seem to be assuming the only life I have is posting online. I assure you I have in no sense surrendered. I have hope for the future, I just know that it's gonna be civilians like you and I bringing change, not politicians. I hope to see you at the protests
That's not what I said? My fault for not being clear I suppose. I meant that I haven't given up, that I'm active in my community to make changes for the better. I'm sure many public officials are too. My problem is with the democratic institution, less so individuals, especially local figures
Anyone who looked at the Trump campaign and the Harris campaign, and didn't feel motivated to vote for Harris is at best a fool, more likely a sociopath.
