I'm with them both on this one, but I've been researching the attitudes of Enlightenment thinkers on slavery (what they say but also what they do), and Hume is quite a disappointment...

I knew it wasn't going to be great going into the research, but as I identify as a Humean for my metaphysics (insofar as I have one at all!), it still hurts. But check out the Encyclopedie entry on slave trade, it's pretty awesome! Faith in Enlightenment restored 😀
