reading this, i started thinking maybe sincerity of the "it is how it is" variety doesnt seem to clash much with public detachment... if "it is how it is" then theres really nothing meaningful to be detached From, any claim at anything BUT detachment is pretentious posturing

This review was almost completely bewildering until I realized it's actually a scene from Percival Everett's novel American Fiction. "What I'm finna do, bruh, is fuck up this torta!"
