Call your state reps for sure. Download the app https://5calls.org which makes it easy to have those numbers and ideas for things to say on hand. I'm a publisher and go to the post office all the time to ship books. I will talk to people in line. I will tell workers I know what's up and will fight for them.
I went into one of the post offices I use. While people waited in line I shouted loudly but calmly. “Excuse me everyone. You may have heard, that Trump is planning to illegally take over the Postal Service. We have to fight this. We have to call our representatives." Tell USPS workers you love them.
If I did this again at a different post office (which I probably will), I'd maybe start by pronouncing my love for USPS to give the workers a heads up that I'm not out to get them.
A worker (possibly the manager) tried to stop with me "Sir..." and then I told her I love the post office, I love postal workers, and I will fight for you. And then I left. It all took about 45 seconds. Wear a mask (it's nice anyway). You'll feel more emboldened doing this.
