We summarized our lab's motivated emotion regulation approach in our Advances in Experimental Social Psychology chapter (linked). We use many methods (behavior, indirect, self-report) with diverse populations (students, voters, physicians, patients).

Many of our projects are at the interface of psychology and ethics, considering whether, why, and how people choose to deploy empathy and outrage in political contexts, during challenging events such as pandemics, and in response to non-human entities such as animals and AI. 2/n.
