it was the last of its kind! the 980 pro and 990 pro meanwhile suffered from botched firmware versions and along with the nonsensical 990 Evo/Plus really hurt Samsung's name for me
My WD SN550 from 2020 is still solid if that helps but WD has innovated onto it 4 times since then (SN5000 now)
going to upgrade to a new Ryzen maybe late this or sometime next year, this machine is from 2019 (I ran that 970 PRO in a PCIe x4 riser, chain-booting through Clover)
i mean i wouldn't advocate for WD right now anyways since they're splitting off flash into sandisk so who knows what their software/firmware people will suffer

also Sony would not use them as the OEM for everything they sell if they weren't at least decent
I think Nikon's CFexpress cards (which are basically NVMe) are Sandisk too
