We also played that. Ultimately we all found compromise! I was not on the crew planning but tragically have always been a person that people ask to help with An Event so I was integral to the music and pamphlets and the girls getting to wear pants 😇
I know it was misinterpreted by many but to be clear it was the song we argued for at my HS grad when they said we couldn’t use the Imperial March from Star Wars 😇
that's amazing omg!!! i got a shitty recorded version of Pomp and Circumstance bc i graduated during the pandemic, so there wasn't even a real graduation ceremony 🥲
That’s amazing… They played Get Low (clean version) at our prom and the whole class yelled the explicit lyrics and I think of that more than I ever knew I would
This school was pretty f'ed up, early 80s before a lot of the other things started in the 90s. Very sportscentric, lots of steroids, I only went there for one year but it was just a lot of daily violence, kids fighting in the hallways between classes. We had multiple bomb threats, this was like 83.
I feel that bomb (and other) threats are simply a part of school life like it just takes one jackass who doesn’t wanna take a test to set off a whole trend of it unfortunately. Fighting seems to depend on the dynamics tho
I never experienced anything like that before moving to this city for one year, now it seems common, back then, not so much. The girl with the locker next to me, kept booze in it, she'd ask me to hold the door of mine open just so so that she could swig between classes. Again, that was so new to me.

It was a *very* sportscentric place.
