🧵 Now that the Assad regime has collapsed and Putin has lost an important ally, the U.S. has an opportunity to help Syria establish a democratic government. Syrians have been tortured, murdered and oppressed for 50 years and while we tried to help, it wasn’t enough. A humanitarian crisis ensued.

I'm an American and we have no business helping anyone when we cant help ourselves and are trying to sabotage Ukraine
America needs to set this one out
To quote Steppenwolf's song 'Monster':
We can't seem to mind our own business
because the whole world's got to be just like us.
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner, we can't pay the cost.
Bombing hospitals, schools, airports and military installations.
Netanyahu is a war criminal
Their actions have been to destroy infrastructure with scant regard to civilian casualties, as usual, and to grab more land.
Usraeli forces are within 25 miles of Damascus
under Trump. The billionaires have taken over. They have promised to jail our own citizens.
Start the ball rolling before the Orange shit gibbon gets in
we missed our opportunity for influence by doing little or nothing for the people of Syria since the Arab Spring.
I think they'll choose their own way now.
This is insular thinking and not seizing an opportunity in the world order. Weak.
However, I don't think we (as the US) should be touching anything in the middle east with a 10 foot pole considering who's about to be running the show
I just fear any US involvement turns into an oil grab and gets influenced by state actors who Donnie is a regular beneficiary of
Or Syria?
:-)
Bourbon is about to get much cheaper. because Trumps trade wars will create a domestic over supply.
Americans are rightfully war fatigue after Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. etc. And you know that poor people fight the USian wars, right?
The ME is a shit show, has always been a shit show & no amount of our help has ever or ever will change that.
Our democracy is the priority.
Best of luck to the good people of Syria 🫶🏻
