I thought Onana had turned a corner and has looked really solid this year, but then yesterday happens and we look completely devoid of confidence again. Frustrating doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Yea there’s a few players you’d have put in the “you can rely upon” bracket. Onana was one. Now he’s not. Martinez was one. Now he’s not. There’s nobody really left. Bruno will be Bruno forever. Can be best player and worst player at the same time.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Bruno as a player, as frustrating as he can be, but I wonder if he’s not got the right temperament to be captain. I feel like he’s too chaotic and hot headed to be the leader on the pitch.
players say they don't care who's captain when on pitch, great teams have several leaders, just look at SAF's best teams, filled with 'captains'. From what I've read bruno is good off the pitch, take care of kids and all that.
I remember Bruno trying a flick that didn’t come off in the latter stages of a game we were a goal up in. Drove me mad. Whatever about his petulance etc but some of those type decisions are something you’d expect from a kid.
sure, but the same kind of no look flick set up Mainoo for the cup-final winner. You can't ask for players like him to only make the safe pass, it will ruin their creativity.
It was more the timing of the flick. Last minute. Under the cosh. C’mon Bruno man. The leaders should know what to do in tense situations.
Btw I’m coming at this from a captain POV. He’s out only creativity so in no way do I want him gone.
it is the same with most creative players, de bruyn arguably the best in PL last 5-6 years, but also one of the players with most missed passes, he tries the most difficult ones. But of course, we don't dominate games like City, mistakes more costly, can we blame Bruno for the rest not good enough?
