Here in Los Angeles all you have to do is go to a Trans Wellness or LGBTQ Clinic and meet with a nurse practitioner and they will hook you up no questions asked.

You walk in, you talk to a doctor at the clinic about what you want, the risks in taking these medications, the costs, coverage, and checkups- 1/?

And then you formulate a plan for what your transition as an individual will look like! Not all people have the same experience some have different meds, different needs, etc. Routine bloodwork and open cooperation on finding and taking meds while understanding the risks is what Informed Consent is!

This is also very useful too. Its a telehealth service called Plume. My wife signed up for it and within the day she had an appointment, after that appointment she had a scrip for estrogen.

I wish informed consent was an option when I began my transition in 2012, I had to deal with the old system and had a psychiatrist straight up tell me after 8 months that he didn't think I was a woman since I had said I felt like a tomboy, thankfully I did find another therapist who was MUCH better

they also take medicaid and have their own pharmacy, so i've been getting progesterone and estradiol valerate from them for ages, they give me proper doses instead of just whatever the minimum they can give me is, and they even do legal gender change letters basically no questions asked
