Put your potatoes in the water. How many potatoes? As many or as few as you want! Peel them or don't! Use whatever kind of potatoes you want! You're in charge!

Set a timer on your phone for like 15 or 20 minutes out so you can check to see if the potatoes are done.

You can also throw whole peeled garlic cloves* in with the potatoes about halfway through the cooking time, so that they will be soft and mash well!

*if available at your local grocery, or you feel like peeling garlic.
