A motorcycle is cheaper than a chuckwagon and horses, and a dirt bike is a reasonable, useful tool on a ranch.

Chuckwagon racing is a huge thing where I'm from but so many horses die or are severely injured from it that I gotta go with the motorcycle

You're going to need a team of horses, a chuckwagon, some tent poles, at least four friends to serve as outriders, a barrel (in place of a camp stove)... The official rules say you have to "break camp" at the start of the race.
