I am so grateful. Grateful to the unsung heroes who keep my lights and heat on, keep the water safe and flowing. Those who fix the streets and collect the garbage. Who grow and harvest and process and transport and stock the food.
Embrace boring, encourage gratitude, live from love.
the work we do is exciting, challenging, and worth it.
we understand that underground utilities are not often seen that way, especially in stressful times when we see so much happening around us faster than we can process.
Thereβs a Taoist principle that says that if people need to know who the leader of a country is, that leader has failed. If people have to see police in the city, the police have failed. Our eyes are invisible to us until something goes wrong with them.

change can be abrupt, gradual, emotional.
many long for the days when things were boring. known. routine. expected.
at least that's been how they're often seen, if they're really seen at all.
reliable, dependable, always there, easy to take for granted.
turn a tap, water flows.
flush a toilet, water's gone.
when utilities are working, you don't even think about them. they're just there.
and we're ok being boring.
we're working to ease that burden so bills can get paid and sewer service can get back to being boring for everyone.
embrace the mundane monotony of uninterrupted utility service.
embrace the certainty of toilets flushing and sinks draining and streets empty after a storm.
embrace the routine of crews on the road, making repairs, clearing drains, improving systems.
we understand that underground utilities are not often seen that way, especially in stressful times when we see so much happening around us faster than we can process.
So nice to have something dependable in all these
"unprecedented times"
