Thanks for this optimistic post. When I think about it, there will be no need for Labour to do deals with Libs in House of Reps to get their agenda through the House. Lab will likely still need to negotiate in the Senate. But both Libs and Greens power will be much diminished. - ThreadSky

PM will have the authority to pursue those policies that Lab was voted in for in its first term.
More chance for good centrist policies not impeded by Green perfectionism.

Sorry, I don’t agree with you. The Greens could be a force for good, and achieve much, but fail by wanting it all their way and not accepting second best while continuing to argue for improvements.

ALP had a majority last term, so did not need to pander to LNP. Greens will still be part of balance of power in senate. A smart ALP will do better negotiating with them (instead of stubbornness) and independents instead of trying to deal with fractured irrelevant LNP.

That’s my hope too. But equally I hope the Greens do better negotiating with the smart ALP instead of Green stubbornness.
