I wanted to be sitting here in a burst of positivity about the challenge ahead. But the truth is I've had an awful night (even by my standards). Woke up at 1.30 in excruciating pain in my upper back / neck. Then had a migraine. Nausea. Was physically sick a couple of times. You get the picture...

As someone with a chronic illness, this isn't that uncommon. I often have nights like these, but it's not helpful when you're trying to climb a mountain 😂 HOWEVER, like I was saying in my character motivation workshop yesterday, barriers DO tend to get bigger the higher up the mountain we climb...

And I got a long way yesterday. 260 stair climbs. Can I repeat that again today given that my back is in so much pain? I've made a start and the actual act of going up and down stairs isn't too bad. With the benefit of hindsight, I **think** it was probably the sitting at the top of the stairs...

...that has caused the problem. So, I'll have to adapt (another thing that's not unusual in my life!!) and the festival events today (if I can go ahead with them) will probably be coming from my study rather than my stairs. But for the moment, I'm determined to keep going...

And I've already made a start. A great start in fact. Have added 81 more stair climbs this morning already and am now at 341 which is higher than Mount St Catherine in Grenada! Next target is Carrauntoohil, the highest peak in Ireland...
