Also if you are *already* doing some of this work around writing here in town, please tell me, I'd love to hear about the challenges you're running into, finding financing, nitty gritty structure stuff. 2/

If a coop is a seed, I'm at the "expecting the seed catalog will arrive in the mail soon" phase. I know there's no one-size fits all solution & institutions won't save us. Coops take time to set up, have their challenges, but my sense is that they can be rewarding & have adaptable structures. 3/

Also last year was insane (& this year could become more insane) so I'll be the first to say I'm not up to speed on where things are w/ National Writers Union & Freelance Solidarity Project, plus the IWW freelance union. 4/

I want to try & direct some energy & attention to learning more, showing up, being engaged by talking about a coop 4 writers, writers union stuff, & supporting nonprofit outlets like the Reader that are really up against it on top of the family carework I'm doing & finding some consistent income. 5/
