As before when I saw this comic, the proper way to do this is, "I absolutely love your tiger pic and would love to make a character based off him. If that's okay with you and you are open, just name a price and I'll be happy to pay it."

And the result may not be EXACTLY like the original. It will be better. Character design collaborations with artists are *FUN,* profitable, and gets their interest beyond just the commission fee.

If they aren't open, or say no? Then f'n RESPECT that and move on. Don't be like Mr. Fox.
