i DO think however that it's a very interesting way to tackle char—he's done being stuck in this little spot since the 80's, to always play the same character, with the same fate; and it's very bold to make him straght up say "i do not know this woman, and if it saves the world, i will kill her"
like he's saying he's tired of being brought back to UC again and again and it's time to let him go—i hope that's what the anime will end up doing and the note. he doesn't need lalah in this story. he has charlia. that's it. end of the story. everything doesnt have to be a cycle.
