My brother, I’m a fan of a Bills division rival, please don’t make me have to defend them. Clearly backwards. You can see where the QB/ball/WR are in this pic. Maybe you looked at the lead WR.
It's not where they are when he releases the ball? It's where the ball goes from his hand. He throws it from around the 27 and a half yard line or so, ball appears to be caught at 28 yard line. Definitely not "clearly backwards" as you state. Probably forward, but it's by thin margins.
You're just wrong on this. The broadcast even broke it down. It's just the physics of trying to throw backward while running forward. It's looks backwards compared to the running QB, but it isn't.
He got away with it, and it's not debatable.
I believe the RB position will become 2QBs and pitches are the norm in the next evolution of the game. It’s obviously risk/reward but currently under utilized, think reverse Wildcat.
The ball is caught 2 yards down field from where it was thrown. Doesn't matter that he threw it behind him because his forward momentum carried it upfield. Forward pass. He got away with it because it looked like a lateral.
aside from the questionable legality of the lateral (its thrown at the 27.5 and caught at the 28(?)) I think there is a secret dimension to football revolving around the successful lateral. Add that to the take purge tbh

Bet that is something people haven't forgotten about 12 months later.
