Some people are arguing that conference championships are devalued when looking at CFP results this year. Maybe. But this isn't different from March Madness. Conference champions aren't even guaranteed a spot in NCAA tourney in some/most? conferences!

If Georgia loses to Notre Dame, no conference champion will have won a playoff game this season. Currently conference champs are 0-4.
