In the pandemic's sixth year we shouldn't have to argue anymore about how masks aren't sieves, and when it's cold out, the water vapour you see around someone with a mask on is water that condensed after it passed through the mask as a gas.

These arguments should have been shut down by now.

They aren't arguments. They're rituals that people afraid of knowledge invoke to ward away information. So counter-arguments don't work.

Sometimes they can be subject to counter-rituals, like the point you're making here: "It's 2025 and you're pretending you don't know how masks work. Why is that?"

I've tried this on with Creationists on occasion, b/c they engage in ritual repetition of claims that they *must* have seen debunked thoroughly.

So I ask them why they're pretending to be unfamiliar with the debunking. At the very least it frequently shuts them up!

People afraid of knowledge, or just haven't been exposed to the knowledge.

My point is this type of information should be coming from sources like WHO, PHAC, CDC, IPAC Canada, on posters in healthcare and since we're in a global pandemic taught in school science classes.
