Exactly. They mean that the shareholders are going to get less in April, though they'll probably cover their losses by their bank interest.

No, even if you work through an umbrella (and are in essence on PAYE) they add employers' NI to your tax deductions. Basically whatever you do they're going to hammer you.

That’s what I mean. I’m just plain self employed so a rise in employer’s contributions doesn’t apply to me.
