Because people loved the science fiction of a future that is more liberating. This is a dystopian reality. Thinking sending a postcard to a tyrant will do anything is performative at best. All the postal workers will be wasting their time on something he will never see. Get him out of office!
How is this at all revolutionary? You are advocating for ppl to buy postcards from Etsy, a company that takes 40%+ from the artists. Consumerism and capitalism are some of society's biggest problems.
