What online spaces do you think are worthwhile for artists currently? Im down to just Bluesky and Instagram because the amount of time Ive been putting in for art admin stuff the 2 years with literally no pay off burnt me out over time. What online spaces do you think are worthwhile for artists currently?

I wonder this myself (I currently only have BSky and IG too). I do NOT have the energy to be constantly up on social medias while working FT but I know if I want to build an audience I'm going to have to...

I started an art station account a couple of months ago but I've not yet worked up the energy to take time away from drawing to upload everything there. Not sure there's much point? I dunno.

In the beginning I had tumblr, deviant art, a facebook page, and threads. Plus instagram and then eventually bluesky. When I started my own website I dropped all of those because it was so much work for nothing and my art is against all their rules.

Having a website is costly and you still need to drive traffic towards it. I dont get a lot of traffic on my website, and if my art wasnt explicitly sexual and nudist in nature, I wouldnt bother at this stage, but I dont have many options available for my art so I have the website out of necessity.

I think it definitely depends on what youre going for and im no expert by any means but tiktok (by gamble ngl) or yt shorts can really be something jf u post short form stuff. They can get traction quickly, not always viral but an audience

For photos id def say bluesky or ig

I dont think I could force myself to suffer through making videos and using tiktok for anything tbqh. Tiktok and twitter are both things I find absolutely intolerable. Regardless, I dont make art thats suited to tiktoks terms anyway. But thanks for the suggestion.
