Skype, FaceTime, Zoom... I don't know anyone who actually uses a generic term for video calls, we all use specific brand names (even when not talking about that specific app).

That's really common, and I am sure other, smarter #linguists can supply the name for this.

E.g. all diapers are Pampers in some places...
