You know how in old cartoons you'd have animation cells that didn't neatly match the color of the background art? Resulting in something like a false wall or trap behind a character being telegraphed in advance, because you knew it was going to animate?

I'm sure I could find some examples in scooby doo but I'm not yet sure I want to sit through some episodes of scooby doo just to find it. 😅
I’m thinking about games in a cartoon style like Discworld 1 & 2.
You could clearly see the difference between background and animated artwork through colour palette and linework.
