the Alabama Sturgeon has about 10 individuals left and is found only in the lower Alabama river
the Palezone Shiner is found only in parts of the Tennessee River system but, in Alabama is only found in Paint Rock River
the Alabama Cavefish is critically endangered and only found in Key Cave (1/2)

near Florence Alabama
and then the Watercress Darter is also unique to Alabama and has only been recorded within the Black Warrior River drainage basin
