I think the NBA ought to experiment with getting rid of the corner 3-pointer. That shot is too short to be worth the extra point.

I haven't looked at any data but I feel like the corner 3 is more difficult despite the distance due to little to no help from the backboard.

Overall, I think the 3-point shot has been a plus for basketball. (It's been 45 years so I doubt it's going away.) I do, however, think the diminishment of the importance of the mid-range jumper is regrettable.
