I think it’s maybe a little more accurate to say that America couldn’t swallow historically minor high inflation that barely, if at all, exceed rising wages, … which is the dumbest fucking reason to vote in fascists in the history of the known universe.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't avg inflation in 2022 as high as 8%? I'm in a union and my annual increases barely if at all surpassed the past few years inflation and before this job i was getting negligible raises if any

Maybe, but that’s 2 years before the election. And even if it was 8% above wage growth, that’s NOT historically high. It was also better than the rest of the world and was closer to 3% for the 2 yrs after that. And certainly not so high to careen towards fascism. The nazis rose after 30,000%!!!

Imo liberals can feel that not being the other guys alone is enough, but I think it's pretty obvious those expectations are out of alignment with what the voting public thinks, so it would be pragmatic to adjust those expectations
