also if you can't afford "good" skilled artists and still don't want to make your own bad art, support the lesser-skilled artists who will literally work for pennies on the hour to draw something for a little pocket money. Also being paid to practice is nice :) They cost as much as AI services do.

My own experience is that it's about logging the hours. And that doesn't mean intensely studying/perfectionist. Doodle, try different mediums, think about what grabs you about a piece of art. there will be things you don't ace right away and will have to learn to work around

Option 3: Use public domain/creative Commons art. The Smithsonian has a *massive* archive of images available free. Gustave Dore is stunning. There are archives of nineteenth century magazines free for plundering.

A lot of my favorite art has "bad" qualities. I look at the kinda illustration and concept art done for AAA games and these people are incredibly skilled but I also think that kinda really commercial/industry portfolio stuff is not interesting to me at all
