I've heard about how the Vietnam War caused rifts in households (and which were artistically captured in the Vietnam Memorial). To date, there's still disagreement, despite ample evidence that our leaders knew it couldn't be won. It's sobering to think there may not be any reconciliation from this.

However, I'm quite confident that I'm clear-headed about my position. Trump was never about a disagreement of ideas. Trump is about a full-on assault of democratic norms and democracy itself. Taking Trump's side is like taking the side of the 9/11 hijackers.

Slow down. To me Trump is a straight-up white nationalist that does not respect any limitations - he has cheated his whole life - the draft, business, marriage, taxes. And he tried to cheat the election of 2020. Not a terrorist, but very dangerous to all of us.

I was totally surprised. I told my kids that my generation had failed them, that we allowed such a poor choice to even be on the ballot. Unfortunately they have to wait two years to vote to put people in congress to check this maddness.
