It's amazing how long it goes on for. My eldest is 11 and, after a gap which was long enough for me to think he was done with it, had now started dropping all his pre-molars and molars. On the plus side, no tooth fairy nonsense, but he is currently soaking one in lemon juice to see what happens.

Teeth are part, or rather develop from your skin whereas your eyes are extensions of your central nervous system. You don’t want an extension of your brain dropping off. They’re super complex structures with lots of nerve fibre connections.
