Not started s2 yet but is it just the lack of space wizards with laser swords? Without the Jedi, Andor could conceivably be set in just about any sci-fi franchise, which I could understand some people feeling as a betrayal of what makes a Star War a Star War.

If anything, I think it feels closer to the vibe of the original than anything else in the ‘franchise’ (hate that word). And it’s most definitely a war.

I think the lack of Jedi may have put some people off, but it could never have been made at this scale without the Star Wars name.

I'm just amazed that the Disney Star Wars content mill produced something of this quality in 2025.
