As someone who is disabled and who has a severe chronic illness, I really appreciated the author's efforts to both portraying Briar as someone disabled, and also not just magically curing him in the end. Too often I think books and media just up and cure the MC and they go about their lives as if2/5

they were never ill to begin with, but that was not the case with this book. As stated in the beginning of the book, so it's not truly a spoiler, at the end of the book Briar is cured of the terminal part of the curse, but not the chronic part. I really liked that, and appreciated that choice. 3/5

Beyond his illness, Briar is a fantastic fashion designer, a wonderfully capable witch, and a hilarious and adorable MC! Along with his familiar Vatii, his new roommate Gretchen, and the two love interests vying for his affections, all of these combined to make a fabulously interesting book. 4/5
