Any thoughts about incorporating TXA for miscarriage bleeding management in ER ? I personally like it because it is class B for pregnancy which is reassuring to patients who still want to minimize risk even if the chance of viability is tiny .

Its not currently something we do regularly but I have had GYN recommend it for brisk bleeding. It may become more prominent as we see more miscarriages in low resource settings. It will be accepted easier than MUA by ED docs.

I don’t work in a red state but I think it may be a good recommendation for providers there. If they are worried about being persecuted, TXA would be like giving Tylenol, same category and for sure not an abortifacient. AND can be used in literally every bleeding diagnosis in OBGYN!
