I've had a couple conversations with younger coworkers about this recently: they *boggle* at the idea of indoor smoking sections. I find it remarkable just how fast the culture changed

Honestly I am definitely old enough to remember indoor smoking well and even I can scarcely believe it now! I even vaguely remember there being smoking on planes!
It's wild to think about. In my early 20s, you couldn't go into a bar without seeing a thick haze of smoke and separating smoking and drinking (alcohol or coffee) was a bizarre idea.
Now, I'm surprised when I see someone smoking even outside!
When the smoking ban in bars and restaurants was introduced in Sweden (2005 i believe) it was accepted ridiculously quickly. Even the smokers hated coming home smelling like crap, apparently.
In my local, there were one or two people who had upgrade their personal hygiene quite urgently. Previously the smoke had hidden any …odours… quite effectively.
