I don’t have all of the answers although wages were increasing and inflation was stable while he was President and until he fumbled the economy by ignoring the severity of the pandemic. It was an election year and he didn’t want to cause alarm, is the explanation I’m finding

How do countries like China abuse them? The US companies are the importers of record and pay the tariffs & duties directly to Dept of Commerce! US Companies pass it down to you and I as the end consumer.
US companies moved production to China upon US consumer demand for cheaper products.

I misspoke
US imposes more on China.
China does import US products but apparently China is trying to avoid Tariffs by manufacturing in Mexico
So it’s America using economic warfare
I misunderstood the complexity as I was taught years ago China was the one imposing restrictions
Maybe things changed
