I think we have to look at this as more of an overreach of the executive branch. If Trump refuses to enforce a law that was passed by congress signed by a former president AND was upheld by SCOTUS, doesn’t this give him unchecked power over the courts and congress? That’s the bigger news here.

Could you elaborate on why? Seriously asking not not being sarcastic. If a law is upheld by the courts, wouldn’t congress need to overturn the law? Otherwise couldn’t a president pretty much pick and choose what laws and rulings from the courts they want to follow?

None of that gives the president “unchecked powers over congress or SCOTUS”.

If the government doesn’t uphold the law, they can be sued for legal and financial remedy until they comply.

The algorithm is based on the servers, right? Couldn't they have a trusted 3rd party review the code updates for the app itself? That seems like that would solve 1/2 of the problem.
